Dear BigDataX applicant:
We know that this is a time of turmoil and many of your universities have recently moved all teaching activities online and also canceled all sponsored events.
In the abundance of caution and the interest of the students for you to get the best possible experience in our REU program, we have decided to delay the BigDataX program until the summer 2021. We have not made this decision lightly, but we feel strongly that this is a necessary adjustment we must make to our schedule in order to give the site the best chance for it to be a success. We want to take this opportunity to say that we appreciate your interest in our program, and we hope you will consider us again next year if you don’t graduate until August 2021 or later.
We are sorry to have to postpone our program, we were all very much looking forward to a fun and productive summer. Unfortunately, we are living through a very difficult time in the world, and with sufficient social distancing, we hope we can do our part in emerging from this crisis even stronger as a society! We hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
