Dongfang Zhao

As of January 2013, I am a PhD candidate in computer science, supervised by Prof. Ioan Raicu in DataSys Lab .

I primarily work on the NSF funded project FusionFS, a distributed filesystem that has achieved 2.44 TB/s throughput on 16K nodes.

I am working on distributed file systems for data-intensive HPC applications, including:

• Simulations for new storage architectures at exascale (i.e. O(1M)+ nodes)
• Prototypes of extreme scale distributed filesystems (i.e. O(10K) ~ O(100K) nodes)
• Efficient data compression/decompression algorithms for distributed filesystems
• Cost-effective hybrid stroage systems with SSD caching
• Distributed data provenance capture and query at the filesystem level
• Compute-intensive erasure codings for data redudancy
